Hello! My name is Macie. I am a recent Notre Dame graduate with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Studio Art. I have tutored dozens of students over the past 5+ years and love offering support and guidance throughout the college preparation period.
I create a personalized learning plan for each student based on their learning styles, background, and goals, continually adapting it as we progress through our time together. I focus on teaching content, sharing exam-specific testing strategies, and helping each student build confidence in their own abilities.
ACT exam preparation looks a little different for everyone. I meet each student where they are at and create individualized plans meant to foster growth, confidence, and fundamental understandings of topics that will be tested.
Private ACT tutoring also has benefits that extend far beyond this one exam. I have received many comments from students and families about reduced testing anxiety, increased self-confidence, and enhanced critical thinking skills. The one-on-one environment allows me to give extra attention to specific focus areas with each student that may be harder to do in a busy classroom setting. This can help students learn more about their own learning styles and optimize their studying strategies as they head into college academics.

These are purely for example and are intended to demonstrate that every learning journey is unique. Tutoring, especially for an exam such as the ACT, is a very personal process and varies from person to person. My individualized learning plans are meant to help each student thrive and thus will focus on different growth areas for different students. Tutoring results may also vary based on the frequency and quantity of meetings, previous knowledge, and time spent preparing outside of sessions.
